These variations of Walking in the Edge each consist of 93 crops from individual movie frames arranged in sequential order.

This contemporary take on the slit-scan photograph compresses the passage of time into a single still image. Drawing on Brian Massumi’s idea that passage is the field from which positions emerge, it highlights just one of the many invisible threads (time) that shape the complex field of forces from which any place or moment emerges.
